Welcome

During thirty years of farming in Norfolk I gained practical experience in working with metal, often repairing, modifying or even manufacturing machinery. In 2000 I began experimenting with making performance sculptures using farm scrap metal and during 2002 - 2004 exhibited through Norfolk Open Studios, selling a piece or two of large scale sculpture every year.

A change in family circumstances and bodily wear & tear prompted my departure from farming and a move to Northumberland with my wife in 2007.

Silver is proving the perfect material for me with its natural beauty and willingness to allow me to practice my interest in forging and raising; perhaps this inclination towards hammer work is inherited from my farrier Grandfather.

I have been training under a Silversmith with 40 years experience and recently registered my Sponsors mark with the Assay Office Scotland.

Although the pieces on display demonstrate the importance I attach to the traditional techniques of silversmithing, I am also interested in integrating these values into more contemporary design.
